This is a really good starter. There are a few problems stopping it from being REALLY good though. I felt that it was pretty quiet (try some compression) and that it lacked an outro. The brass section didnt seem very "life-like" but i think that added to the over all effect. Good job!

I will surely use this details for a next song, Thank you for this great review!

I don't know how you do this but you just keep getting better and better at a tremendous pace.
Your mixes just keep improving. If i have to mention one thing in this review it is the drums. They were pretty god damn awesome. I would change their sound a little bit (just to suit me) but overall they were amazing. I loved the shakers and all the little bits that just added up to make this song so 'engaging'
The only fault in them was the kind of hiss added at around 1:50 was maybe a little to treble-y. If the highs were scooped it would be little bit clearer and not as distracting (this is just speculation)
In my opinion the choir was pretty well done, maybe it lacked some low end in places but in general it sat well in the mix. The synth fit the theme of the song really well and the melody was quite stellar.
I think the song lacked some bass to make it sound more warm and full. I'm a sucker for plucky synths and noise effects and you used both in this song :3 To some people the song may seem repetetive but it wasn't a factor that made the song any worse in my opinion, it added to the, as you said "experimental" nature
In general this was a huge improvement over your past work. Good motherfucking job man!

ScottJacob responds:

Thanks man, i appreciate your input. Thanks for the feedback.

A loop that doesn't loop very well? Not much of a loop then xD

Vee responds:

What do you mean?

Sorry to say dude, but this was pretty bad.
First of all the quality was pretty shit (i don't know if its the lack of gear or you're new to all the music-recording-shizz) The drums got totally lost in the mix at parts and the guitar was poorly recorded. I'm pretty sure there was only one guitar recorded for each part (One for rhythm, one for lead). Next time try recording two or more guitars and pan them around to make the sound fuller.
The song in itself wasn't great, the solo kinda sucked and there were a few mistakes (during the legato)
Keep on trying and maybe invest in some better gear (Sm57 is a great guitar mic) Good luck!

ZackRocha responds:

Thanks, I do lack the gear right now, I'm still starting, this was a sort of experience.

I enjoyed this ambient horror track quite a bit. I don't know where the down votes came from. The track would benefit from a video or something along those line (it would be amazing in a game)
This song gave the chills big time and the higher quality must be amazing. I didn't play PoE yet (Its sitting there on my hard drive and all) so i cant compare it to the original.
To everyone out there if you're going to bash a song at least state why you didn't like it, every time this happens I get pissed off, I respect everyone's opinions but its hard to respect it if I don't know it.
Good Job.

Thank you very much for your support, Mr Jelly Man. Aherm. Mr. Evil Jelly Man. *nudge* *nudge*

I'm very appreciative of your complimenting review. Take care of yourself, mate.

Cheers.

Pretty stellar loop. It's hard to pick out any faults in a thirty second loop. One thing that i can say is that the mix was a big improvement over your other song 'Space Theme' Maybe it lacked some energy to be danceish (that's a word now) Good job

ScottJacob responds:

Thanks alot! Danceish is definitely in my vocabulary now.

I don't know what to say about this... Its just amazing, 100% download and five stars. The melody and the sounds are great. The synth is really captivating, especially at 0:55. I like to put in at least one "negative" comment in my reviews but this time, one of the few times I just can't. Everything was great the mood swings, the happy parts the melancholy parts, the mix, everything. Amazing job, maybe one day I can write an amazing tune like this, maybe one day...

ShinsukeIto responds:

Thanks so much for the review, 5 stars and download :)

I can't really take credit for the synth though, I used a plugin called TB Peach :P

I'm sure you'll be able to create music like mine, or better! Good luck!

An enjoyable chiptune. Not much things to be picky about except at around 1:25 the drums (the new part you introduced) and the lead get in each others way. Messing around with the EQ and scooping the frequencies of one of the instruments would get rid of this problem. Except that this was pretty awesome. By the way Magical 8 bit plugin is kinda amazing :D

Keep on posting

ScottJacob responds:

Hey, much thanks for the advice. Yeah im still kind of new with this whole thing so im still trying to get a grasp on compression/eq's and mastering.

I absolutely love this song, the one gripe I have with it is the piano. It sounds and feels amazing but in my opinion it should slowly fade out instead of abruptly stopping. Maybe that was on purpose and im just not seeing it :) I am being very picky here and I am in no place to judge your work (seeing as its a million times better than mine) but i guess ill throw in my two cents. None the less amazing tune and i would love to see it in some awesome atmospheric game. Keep it up :D

Darc14 responds:

thanks for your feedback :) i appreciate your real opinnion ... actually i kinda "missed" the fade out :P but well thanks that u remind me of that :)

feel free to use it if you need it :)

I'm just a guy, with fruity loops, spare time and a knack for music (not really) I plays video games and shtuff spend most of my days failing at FL studio or studying Enjoy my terrible music :3
